Wind, Wind Go Away

It doesn't seem like the wind will subside anytime soon. Today the weatherman said we had gusts all day in the 30 mph range. I needed to get in a longer ride today and sure wasn't looking forward to doing that long of ride on the trainer. So it was outside into the wind. It made for an interesting ride. As long as I stayed parallel with the wind either as a headwind or a tailwind I was fine, but when I went perpendicular to the wind I had trouble keeping my bike on the road. The wind did blow me off onto the gravel shoulder twice today. I ended up with a 31 mile ride, but with the high wind it made me feel like I had been outside in it all day.

This picture was taken of the Pine Creek Grist Mill near our house. With all the rain we had yesterday Pine Creek's banks were full.
